Ziaur Rahman (later President of Bangladesh) wrote in the magazine Bichittra on 26 March 1974 that the speech had inspired him to take part in the 1971 Liberation War. كتب ضياء الرحمن (لاحقاً رئيس بنغلاديش) في مجلة بيتشريتا في 26 مارس 1974 أن الخطاب ألهمته بالمشاركة في حرب التحرير عام 1971.
